- Navy of the Rif Republic, 1922-26
- Career:
The Berber people of Northern Morocco revolted and declared their independence from Spain in September 1921 under Muhammad Abd-el-Krim. He proclaimed the Rif Republic and organized an administration, an army and a navy. The Riffian Navy was created in 1922, mainly for administrative purposes (control of coastal shipping and smuggling) but two motor launches were armed for coastal patrol, anti-smuggling and harbour service. The boats were captured by Spanish troops in 1926 and Abd-el-Krim surrendered to France the same year.
